Stocks in Asia were lower on Tuesday afternoon trade as fresh concerns over a slowing Chinese economy and renewed trade tensions weighed on investor sentiments.
The mainland Chinese markets, watched in relation to Beijing‘s ongoing trade war with Washington, slipped by the morning session‘s end. The declined 0.5 percent and the Shenzhen component slipped 0.858 percent. The Shenzhen composite also fell 1.366 percent.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong‘s shed 0.59 percent.
Japan‘s slipped 0.25 percent in afternoon trade while the Topix index shed 0.12 percent, despite gains of more than 0.8 percent in the shares of Japanese conglomerate . South Korea‘s fell 0.3 percent.
The in Australia slipped more than 0.5 percent, with most sectors seeing losses. The heavily weighted financial subindex declined 1.7 percent as shares of Australia‘s Big Four banks saw losses. fell 2.41 percent, slipped 1.68 percent, shed 2.45 percent while declined more than 2 percent.
