Bella Thorne says her coming out as bisexual came at a price as it has lost her movie roles.

The 21-year-old actress bravely revealed her bisexuality in 2016 via Twitter after a photo of her kissing her friend, Bella Pendergast, surfaced online.

Since then, Bella has dated both men and women but claims to have had one of her scheduled auditions cancelled by producers because of her sexuality.

In an interview with The Gay Times magazine, Bella said: ‘There were a few places on the acting side that were very negative about it. There was someone who, right after I came out, cancelled my audition.’

According to The Babysitter star, it’s not been as explicit as someone telling her: ‘You’re gay so I’m not going to hire you,’ but she has felt people’s behaviour towards her change.

Making a rather bold statement, Bella claimed: ‘It seems like no one understands bisexuality at all. In this world it’s like you’re either gay or you’re straight; there’s no in between. If you fucked a guy once, you must be gay. Like, what? No. That’s just being fluid.’

and singer Mod Sun but said nobody understands the ‘bond’ she shares with both partners.

She stated: ‘Yeah, we joke around about poly, but we aren’t in the sense that we don’t put a word, a box or label too many things. It is what it is.’
