Police were searching for the suspect Monday for about four hours. The Elk Grove Police Department tweeted that the San Joaquin County Sheriff had two subjects detained Monday afternoon.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, approximately 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds with long dreadlocks. He was believed to be wearing a black ski jacket and a red shirt, according to the tweet sent at 10:50 a.m., which shows the search area near Unswer and Brabham ways.

A perimeter was set up during the search, but a tweet sent by EGPD at 3:41 p.m. said the perimeter would be broken down shortly. Jimenez said officers were staying in communication with nearby schools but they believe there is no danger to campuses.

The robbery occurred at a bank in San Joaquin County, Jimenez said.

The robbery is being investigating by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department, Jimenez said.
